Watch: Mariners prospect crushes HR off tee

Baseball America/Twitter

This is the definition of bat speed.

There's something to be said when an electric swing connects with a blazing 100 mph fastball, at the perfect angle - it's safe to say the ball is going a long way.

But when the target isn't moving, that's a different story.

On Saturday night, the Arizona Fall League held a hitting competition for some of baseball's blue-chip prospects. One of those guys is Seattle's Tyler O'Neill, who crushed a homer to left field off a batting tee - the first player to ever homer off the tee in this challenge.

It's no surprise that in four seasons in the Mariners' organization, O'Neill has 70 home runs, including 24 this past season in Double-A, and 32 the year prior in Single-A.
