Scuffling Heyward sits vs. Kershaw in Game 6
Up 3-2 in their best-of-seven showdown, the Chicago Cubs will play for their first pennant since 1945 on Saturday without their high-priced offseason addition in the lineup. Albert Almora Jr. - not Jason Heyward - will start in right field for Game 6 of the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw.
Heyward, who posted a .631 OPS in the first season of his eight-year, $184-million contract, is just 2-for-28 (.071) with eight strikeouts this postseason, and went hitless in two at-bats against Kershaw in Game 2 of the NLCS.
