Reds' Patrick Kivlehan: Designated for assignment Thursday
Kivlehan was designated for assignment Thursday.
Analysis:
Following the acquisition of Arismendy Alcantara, the Reds opted to designate Kivlehan for assignment. Kivlehan played 100 games at the Triple-A level for three different organizations in 2016. He posted an underwhelming .254/.302/.416 line over that run. His time in the majors was limited, as he played in just eight MLB games. In said games, he went 4-for-21 (.190) and struck out 11 times.
