Toronto police have released a photo of a suspect who allegedly threw a beer at Baltimore Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim during Tuesday's American League wild-card game between the Orioles and Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.

The suspect was later identified as a sports copy editor for a local media outlet.

The incident occurred in the seventh inning while Kim chased down a fly ball in left-center field. As Kim made the catch, a can landed on the field, narrowly missing him. The fan apparently left the stadium before police arrived on the scene.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Blue Jays apologized to Kim and the Orioles for the incident. Blue Jays players, now in Arlington preparing for Game 1 of the ALDS against the Texas Rangers, also appealed to fans not to throw objects onto the field.

"The fans are incredible, they've been incredible all year, and they step it up when the postseason comes," outfielder Kevin Pillar told Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com. "But you have to keep the stuff in the stands. These are human beings, these are grown men, they have families, they have kids.

"No matter what the situation is we got to be better than that."
