Following his dominant American League East-winning campaign with the Toronto Blue Jays last season, left-hander David Price was given a seven-year, $217-million contract by the Boston Red Sox.

While the Red Sox are headed to the postseason as the 2016 AL East champs, Price has been heavily scrutinized for his work - including his 1-3 record and 7.89 ERA in five starts versus the division-rival New York Yankees.

Despite some less than stellar performances this season, and giving up the most home runs of his career, Price still made a mark on Red Sox history, pitching the most innings (230) since Pedro Martinez back in 1998 (233 2/3).

Martinez, a three-time Cy Young Award winner and eight-time All-Star, spent seven seasons in Boston, and was MLB's ERA leader in five of his seasons (four with the Red Sox), and the AL strikeout leader in three. The Dominican native was a first-ballot Hall of Famer in 2015.

Price, 31, posted a 17-9 record with a 3.99 ERA in 35 starts. He allowed 102 earned runs with 30 homers.
