Mariners' Felix Hernandez: Disappointing end Sunday to disappointing season

Hernandez allowed three runs on four hits across just three innings in Sunday's loss to the Athletics. He struck out three.

Analysis:

King Felix allowed a solo homer in the first inning before yielding another pair of runs during a rally in the third, and he was pulled from the game after throwing just 47 pitches. Hernandez will finish the season with pedestrian numbers by his loft standards, as he compiled a 3.82 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and career-low 7.2 K/9 rate. He dealt with various injuries in 2016, so Hernandez will look to put this season behind him and aim to get back to his dominant ways in 2017.
