Twins' Hector Santiago: Wins final outing of season with scoreless quality start
Santiago (13-10) pitched 6.1 scoreless innings, giving up only three hits and three walks in Saturday's win over the White Sox.
Analysis:
Santiago was particularly effective against his former team, going 4-0 with a 1.03 ERA in four starts against the White Sox this season. Although he can't be blamed for a lack of wins playing for the Angels and Twins this year, he did set personal worsts in ERA (4.87) and K/9 (7.07). To provide more value next year, he'll need to return to at least posting a higher strikeout rate -- like he did his first two years in the league -- if he doesn't significantly improve in ERA, WHIP or wins.
