Tigers' Daniel Norris: Allows just a solo homer in victory over Braves

Norris (4-2) yielded just one run on a solo shot in a 6-2 victory over the Braves on Friday. He allowed five hits, struck out eight and walked two.

Analysis:

The 23-year-old once again split his time between Triple-A and the Tigers during 2016, but in his 13 MLB appearances this season, he did very well. Norris posted a 3.38 ERA and struck out 71 in 69.1 innings. He didn't yield more than two earned runs in any of his final four starts and struck out 11 over 6.1 versus Minnesota on Sept. 12. Looking ahead to next season, Detroit would probably like him to cut down on the amount of base runners he allows. Norris posted a 1.40 WHIP due in large part to 22 walks and a .271 batting average against.
