On the heels of second baseman Dee Gordon's dramatic home run one day after the death of Jose Fernandez, the Arizona Diamondbacks wanted to let the Miami Marlins know just how special it was.

Gordon hit a leadoff home run in the Marlins' first game without Fernandez, becoming visibly emotional as he rounded the bases. He, along with other Marlins teammates, embraced one another when he made it back to the dugout.

Teams around the majors have paid tribute to Fernandez and the Marlins with moments of silence, while many players have donned his No. 16 on their ball caps, eye black, and jerseys.
