Twins' Jose Berrios: Lasts 4.2 innings in Tuesday's no-decision

Berrios pitched 4.2 innings, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk while failing to record a strikeout in Tuesday's no-decision versus Kansas City.

Analysis:

The no-decision leaves Berrios without a win in his last eight starts. His last victory (Aug. 1 at Cleveland) happens to also be the 22-year-old's only quality start in 13 tries this season. Making things worse, Tuesday's performance marked the first time that the rookie failed to notch a strikeout all year. If there's a bright side to Berrios' most recent performance, it would be the fact he didn't allow a home run for the first time in five starts. The righty also allowed just one free pass after issuing 17 over his last 20.2 innings. Berrios remains Minnesota's top pitching prospect, but his struggles in the majors this season have put winning a spot in the rotation next spring in doubt.
