Rays' Enny Romero: Done in by long ball in Monday loss

Romero gave up three earned runs on three hits over 1.1 innings in Monday's 7-1 loss to the White Sox.

Analysis:

The erratic reliever saw both Justin Morneau and Carlos Sanchez take him deep with a man aboard in the the seventh and eighth inning, respectively, leading to the fourth time in his last seven appearances that he's given up multiple earned runs. Romero's forgettable month includes a 14.85 ERA over 6.2 innings, as well as the infamous Sep. 10 incident where he failed to intentionally walk the Yankees' Gary Sanchez as instructed and surrendered a sacrifice fly. It remains to be seen if the 25-year-old will receive at least one other chance for redemption before the campaign concludes.
