Reds' Zack Cozart: Lands on disabled list

The Reds placed Cozart (knee) on the disabled list Monday, retroactive to Sept. 16.

Analysis:

Cozart's placement on the disabled list all but ensures he will not return this season, as he is now only eligible to play in the Reds' final two games this weekend. He will be a trade candidate this offseason after posting a .733 OPS and hitting a career-high 16 home runs in 2016. With Cozart on the disabled list, Jose Peraza is set to finish out the season as the Reds' primary shortstop.
