Mets' Sean Gilmartin: Fails to get out of first inning

Gilmartin (0-1) only recorded two outs and allowed five runs on four hits and walked three batters in a loss to the Phillies on Saturday.

Analysis:

With Saturday's projected starter Noah Syndergaard coming down with strep throat, New York turned to relief pitcher Gilmartin. In his first start of the year, he failed to get out of the first inning and retired just two of the nine batters he faced with Phillies starting pitcher Alec Asher even recording a hit. The rough outing raised his season ERA from 4.76 to 7.13.
