After a 14-1 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night, the Colorado Rockies were officially eliminated from the postseason.
The powerful offense of the Rockies - which contained NL MVP candidate Nolan Arenado, potential NL batting champ DJ LeMahieu, and impressive outfielders Carlos Gonzalez and Charlie Blackmon - was not enough for the promising club to secure a playoff birth.
Colorado sits third in the NL West at 73-82, with seven games remaining. This is the seventh consecutive year the Rockies have missed the postseason.
