Mancini makes history with HR in first 3 MLB games

Evan Habeeb / USA TODAY Sports

Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter has found his spark plug in Trey Mancini.

The 24-year-old rookie joined Carlos Quentin and Trevor Story as the only players in MLB history to homer in each of their first three starts, after Mancini belted a solo home run in the fourth inning Saturday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Mancini made his major-league debut Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox in front of friends and family, homering in his second-career at-bat off Eduardo Rodriguez.

He'd homer once again Thursday, taking David Price deep for a three-run shot to become the first player in franchise history to hit a home run in each of his first two MLB starts.
