Twitter reacts to premiere of FOX's 'Pitch'

FOX debuted its much anticipated baseball drama "Pitch" on Thursday night to mostly favorable reviews.

The show centers around Ginny Baker (played by Kylie Bunbury), a right-handed pitcher who's called up to make a spot start for the team.

Baker's first outing was, well, less than ideal.

Ahead of the premiere, Bunbury told The Associated Press that the show isn't just for women, nor is it a baseball show.

''This is an everyone show,'' she said. ''Baseball is the backdrop of the show. This is about relationships. It's about people and about representing all colors, creeds, genders properly and well. It has a lot of heart and it makes you feel good. I think that's what we need right now, with everything going on in the world. It just makes you feel good.''

And did it? Here's what the internet was saying about the show's own major-league debut:

The show went head-to-head with CBS's Thursday Night Football, and had some trouble making a dent. According to The Wrap, "Pitch" garnered a 1.1 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic with 4.3 million viewers, compared with CBS's 4.0 rating.
