Kinsler rejoins Tigers' lineup following concussion

Mike DiNovo / USA TODAY Sports

Ian Kinsler is in the Detroit Tigers' lineup Friday after being drilled in the head by a Trevor Bauer fastball and suffering a concussion on Sunday.

The second baseman took ground balls Thursday morning - a critical step in gaining clearance - and didn't have any lingering symptoms.

This season, Kinsler is batting .277/.335/.469, all of which hover around his career average, while belting 26 home runs and 26 doubles.

As the regular season winds down, the Tigers are making a late push, having moved into the second American League wild-card spot behind the Toronto Blue Jays.
