Span is not in the lineup Thursday against the Padres.
Analysis:
With lefty Christian Friedrich taking the ball for San Diego, Span will get another day off. It appears Span has been entered into a strict platoon with Gorkys Hernandez as evidenced by his absence from the lineup in three of the last four games (all versus left-handed starters).
