The Miami Marlins agreed to a three-year, $40-million extension with third baseman Martin Prado on Tuesday, multiple sources told Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald.
Prado has spent the last two seasons in Miami after coming over in a deal with the New York Yankees. He was set to hit free agency this winter.
The 32-year-old is hitting .305/.360/.415 with seven home runs, 37 doubles, and 73 RBIs in 149 games this season.
