The Seattle Mariners have named Justin Hollander director of baseball operations, general manager Jerry Dipoto announced Friday.

The 37-year-old Hollander spent the past nine seasons with the Los Angeles Angels, serving in numerous roles in the organization, including director of player personnel and director of baseball operations.

Hollander was hired by the Angels in 2008 as a player development and scouting assistant.

The executive has experience with advance scouting, data analysis, draft and arbitration prep work, as well as contract negotiations. The role he fills was vacant in the Mariners' front office.

Hollander worked with Dipoto in L.A. from 2011-15.
