Blue Jays' Edwin Encarnacion: Ties career high in homers
Encarnacion homered -- his 42nd of the season -- and drove in three in a 2-for-5 game Tuesday against the Mariners.
Analysis:
With the blast, Encarnacion tied a career high I n home runs, previously set in 2012. He also maintained his RBI lead over David Ortiz, 123-121. Encarnacion is now just one RBI behind Coloardo's Nolan Arenado for the major league lead. The Blue Jays lineup is set up to feed Encarnacion with baserunners in Devon Travis (.338 OBP) and Josh Donaldson (.401 OBP) hitting in front of him, and he's as good a bet as any to finish the season as the league's RBI leader.
