Tigers' Justin Upton: Hopes to play Tuesday

Upton (calf) said he is hopeful that he will be able to play in Tuesday's game, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports.

Analysis:

He said the calf strain that forced him from Monday's contest after the third inning has been brewing for a couple days. He couldn't plant on a throw he made Monday, which resulted in him leaving early. Steven Moya and Tyler Collins are options to start in left field if Upton can't return Tuesday.
