Giants' Johnny Cueto: Spins quality start in Arizona
Cueto (15-5) held the D-Backs to two runs on three hits and two walks and struck out six over seven innings in Saturday's win on the road at Chase Field.
Analysis:
This was a nice rebound from the last time Cueto faced the Diamondbacks, who scored four runs off him in what was his shortest start this season. The 30-year-old is on pace for 200 strikeouts, the most since 2014 when he was runner-up for the Cy Young Award. Most of the four pitches the veteran righty throws rate above-average, but his fastball continues to be the most statistically effective. Cueto's next scheduled start comes Thursday at home against the Cardinals.
