Giants' Denard Span: Out Wednesday with stiff neck

Span (neck) is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, CSN Bay Area's Amy Gutierrez reports.

He left Tuesday night's game with a stiff neck, so it's no surprise that he will be held out of Wednesday's afternoon contest. Angel Pagan moves into the leadoff spot and Gorkys Hernandez will man center field Wednesday. Span missed a week in early July with neck soreness, so it's possible a similar absence could be on tap this time around.
