Marlins' Tom Koehler: Handed second consecutive loss

Koehler (9-10) allowed five runs on 10 hits and three walks over five innings Tuesday against the Mets, striking out six and taking his second straight loss.

Analysis:

Koehler struggled from the get-go on Tuesday, giving up three runs in the bottom of the first to relinquish the 2-0 lead his offense handed him in the top half of the first. Koehler has been decidedly mediocre in 2016, going 9-10 with a 4.02 ERA , 1.43 WHIP and a 7.3 K/9 rate. He has been somewhat better in the second half, however, posting 3.33 and 3.50 ERAs in July and August, respectively. Koehler has also walked just 17 batters over the past two months after going through a rough stretch in late May where he walked 20 batters over four starts. He'll look to bounce back in his next start against the Indians on Sunday.
