Royals' Kris Medlen: Fourth rehab appearance

Medlen (shoulder) made a two-inning rehab stint Saturday for Triple-A Omaha, allowing zero runs while striking out two batters and walking none.

Analysis:

The 30-year-old has not thrown over 35 pitches in any of his August rehab appearances. His rehab is expected to end mid-September, however, and his role with the Royals is unknown. Before the injury, Medlen started six early-season games where he struggled with a 7.77 ERA.
