Mariners' Nelson Cruz: May not play Tuesday

Manager Scott Servais hinted that Cruz (undisclosed) may not be in Tuesday's lineup against Texas, The Seattle Times reports.

Analysis:

Cruz showed signs of discomfort during Monday's game against the Rangers, but afterward he merely said that every player is batting some form of injury at this point in the season. Though he may be held out of Tuesday's lineup, there's been nothing to suggest the slugger is in danger of requiring a prolonged absence. The Mariners could be a bit more cautious toward the end of the season, if they fall out of the playoff race.
