Royals' Dillon Gee: Picks up sixth win over Yankees

Gee (6-7) allowed one run on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts over six innings in a win Monday over the Yankees.

Analysis:

This is the ideal Gee start -- he pitched to contact, avoided walks, and kept the ball in the yard. Gee induced 11 flyouts, using spacious Kauffman Stadium to his advantage. He induced just two swinging strikeouts in the process, though, and his inability to miss bats makes him vulnerable to home runs and big innings, and that is the main reason he owns a mediocre 4.37 ERA.
