Brewers' Zach Davies: Strikes out nine against Cardinals

Davies allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out nine over 6.1 innings in a no-decision Monday against St. Louis.

Analysis:

Davies has rebounded from a disaster Aug. 18 against the Cubs with a pair of quality starts, and he's now turned out three nine-strikeout performance this year. He also allowed two more home runs, bringing his total to 18 in 24 starts this season, but Davies also has a sharp 117:34 K:BB in 139.1 innings, making him one of few Brewers starters to show promise for the future.
