Giants' offense records unique stat line in blowout

Rick Scuteri / USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco Giants and the number four were a match made in baseball heaven on Sunday.

In their 13-4 rout of the Atlanta Braves, the Giants became the fourth team in the modern baseball era to record four triples and four home runs in one game. The 1998 New York Yankees were the last team to do it.

The Giants, meanwhile, had not seen a four-homer, four-triple performance since the 1900 New York Giants, becoming the first San Francisco-era team to accomplish the feat.

Joe Panik hit two of the four home runs along with Denard Span and Eduardo Nunez, while Brandon Crawford, Conor Gillaspie and Jarrett Parker all tripled during the seventh inning. Brandon Belt recorded the Giants' other three-bagger.
