Pirates' Gregory Polanco: Healed injury helping boost in power
Polanco attributes part of his power surge to a June shoulder injury which led him to follow through his swing with both hands on the bat. "I'm getting good extension and the ball is carrying more," Polanco told DK Pittsburgh Sports. "A couple months ago, because my right shoulder was a little (sore), I couldn't finish with one hand. I liked it, so I stay with that."
Analysis:
Eight of Polanco's last 10 hits have gone for extra bases, including three homers. He slid back into the cleanup spot Sunday after batting both second and fifth, respectively, in the team's last four games.
