Nationals' Jayson Werth: Blasts first-inning homer Friday

Werth went 2-for-5 with an RBI double, solo homer and two runs in Friday's 8-5 victory over the Rockies.

Analysis:

The veteran slugger got the scoring started on the night with a 407-foot solo shot in the first and then added a run-scoring two-bagger in the seventh that plated Trea Turner. Werth now has homers in consecutive games and six round-trippers overall in August, his highest monthly total in that category this season.
