Padres' Tyson Ross: Shaky in first rehab outing

Ross (shoulder) was shaky in his first rehab outing Thursday, Jeff Sander of the Union-Tribune reports. "I had a lot of non-executed pitches today," said Ross after Thursday's start.

Analysis:

Though he was slated to throw 45 pitches Thursday, Ross lasted just 28 before being removed from the game. He allowed two walks and threw a pair of wild pitches as well, according to Sanders. In fairness, Ross had not pitched since Opening Day, so the fact that he was rusty is not overly concerning. Ross is slated for at least one more rehab start before rejoining the Padres rotation, but another outing like Thursday's could mean a longer rehab assignment.
