Matt Moore was one out away from history.

The San Francisco Giants left-hander lost his no-hitter against the Los Angeles Dodgers with two outs in the ninth inning on Thursday off a bloop single.

After retiring the first two batters in the ninth, Dodgers rookie shortstop Corey Seager - on his bobblehead night - knocked a hit to shallow right field to prevent Moore from becoming the 18th Giants pitcher to collect a no-hitter.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy immediately removed Moore from the game following the single, and the 27-year-old walked off the mound to an ovation at Dodger Stadium. He allowed three walks and one hit, while punching out seven on a career-high 133 pitches.

Giants closer Santiago Casilla would come in and retire Justin Turner on the first pitch to preserve the 4-0 win.

It's the six different time in the last five seasons that a no-hitter has been broken up with two outs in the ninth inning and first time in 2016, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

Moore missed almost all of the 2014 season following Tommy John surgery and was making just his fifth start with San Francisco since being acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays on Aug. 1. He entered the start 0-3 with a 4.70 ERA with the Giants.

San Francisco has seen 17 no-hitters in its franchise history, with four coming since 2012. Chris Heston notched the team's last no-hitter on June 9, 2015. The Giants have not no-hit the Dodgers since 1915.
