Watch: Gomez hammers 3-run shot in 1st at-bat with Rangers

Carlos Gomez didn't waste any time getting acclimated to his new surroundings with the Texas Rangers on Thursday, absolutely launching a three-run home run off Cleveland Indians starter Josh Tomlin in his first at-bat with his new team in the game's second inning.

Gomez's blast received quite a reaction from Rougned Odor, who launched himself out of the Rangers' dugout with congratulatory claps for his newly-acquired teammate.

Gomez was promoted from Triple-A Round Rock prior to Thursday's contest after a short, but successful, stint in the minors.

He signed a minor-league deal with the Rangers on Aug. 20 after being released by the Houston Astros.
