Indians' Trevor Bauer: Takes loss versus Athletics on Wednesday

Bauer allowed five runs (three earned) on nine hits, struck out three and walked two over 6.2 innings in a loss to the Athletics on Wednesday.

Analysis:

Oakland scored all of its runs against Bauer in the second. The first three were charged to the Indians' right-hander, but he should have been out of the frame with just that damage. Instead, Carlos Santana made an error and two more runs scored. It wouldn't have mattered, though, since Cleveland's offense mustered just one run. Bauer is 9-6 with a 3.88 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 131 strikeouts in 146 innings this season. He will pitch again Monday versus the Twins.
