Giants' Denard Span: Out of lineup Wednesday

Span is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers, Andrew Baggarly of the Mercury News Group reports.

With San Francisco giving Span the night off, Gorkys Hernandez will make a rare appearance in the Giants' lineup and start in center field. Span has been putting on a show at the plate lately, as he's hitting .356/.371/.559 with three home runs and 10 RBI over the last 14 games.
