Rockies' Chad Bettis: Takes seventh loss against Milwaukee

Bettis (10-7) gave up four runs (three earned) on four hits and seven walks over five innings in a loss Monday against the Brewers.

Analysis:

Bettis has now failed to record a quality start in three straight outings after six straight from July 7 through Aug. 6. His total lack of control was very uncharacteristic -- Bettis has walked more than three batters just once this season, when he walked four in 4.2 innings May 25 against Boston. Bettis also allowed his 18th home run in 26 starts, giving a 1.1 HR/9 that is playing a big role in his brutal 5.29 ERA.
