Brewers' Jonathan Villar: Steals 50th base against Rockies
Villar went 1-for-3, stole two bases and scored a run in Monday's win over the Rockies.
Analysis:
Villar reached 50 stolen bases with the performance, making him the first Brewer to do so since Scott Podsednik stole 70 bases in 2004. He has already stolen 12 bases in August after stealing 12 in July, and if he keeps running at this rate, Villar has a chance to get to 70 himself. Villar also walked Monday, giving him 14 walks in just 93 plate appearances. If he maintains that plate discipline, he'll have plenty of opportunities to add to his career-high stolen base total down the stretch.
