Mets' Bartolo Colon: Secures 11th victory with quality start Saturday
Colon (11-7) gave up two earned runs on nine hits and a walk over 6.1 innings in Saturday's 9-5 victory over the Giants. He struck out five.
Analysis:
The ageless righty fired 72 of his 103 pitches for strikes and impressively got ahead with first-pitch strikes on 23 of the 27 hitters he faced. Colon bounced back nicely after lasting only four innings against the D-backs in his last start and now has quality starts in three of his four trips to the mound in August. He'll look to extend the positive momentum on Friday versus the Phillies.
