The Pittsburgh Pirates expect to place third baseman Jung Ho Kang on the 15-day disabled list with a left shoulder injury, the team announced Saturday.
Kang suffered the injury on a slide in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Miami Marlins. The club expects him to be out for two-to-four weeks, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Travis Sawchik.
In his place, Pittsburgh will call up Josh Bell from Triple-A Indianapolis.
This season, Kang has proved to be serviceable for the Pirates, slashing .243/.326/.481 with 14 home runs.
In Triple-A, Bell, the Pirates' third overall prospect, is batting .295/.382/.468 with 14 homers and 23 doubles to go with 60 RBIs.
