Ryan Howard and Ryan Zimmerman are in the clear.

Major League Baseball didn't find any evidence that the Philadelphia Phillies' or Washington Nationals' respective first basemen had any involvement with performance-enhancing drugs, as was alleged in a documentary aired by Al Jazeera in December.

The league released a statement Friday, saying the documentary "The Dark Side" wrongfully depicted the sluggers as PED users in an undercover report.

"This thorough investigation did not find any violations of the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program by either Howard or Zimmerman."

While the duo was never seen on video, former big leaguer Taylor Teagarden discussed his experience with PEDs while on camera in the house of pharmacist Charlie Sly.

While MLB's statement made it clear both Howard and Zimmerman fully cooperated with the investigation, it states that Sly did not agree to speak with the commissioner's office in any form.

Both Howard and Zimmerman released statements of their own, maintaining that they are suing Al Jazeera for "defamatory" claims.

Howard said he was "shocked and outraged" by the false remarks, and that he welcomed the investigation by MLB to clear his name.

"I am glad that this part of the process has concluded, and I look forward to holding the responsible people accountable."

Zimmerman took the opportunity to make it clear he has never cheated, and he doesn't intend to start.

"Throughout my life and career, I have been true to myself, my family, the Nationals organization, and my community," he said. "It is not right that a so-called news organization and its personnel can publicly make false accusations that damage my reputation and call into question my integrity without any consequences whatsoever."
