Rangers' Ian Desmond: Drives in three against A's

Desmond went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run in a 6-1 win against Oakland on Wednesday.

Analysis:

Those runs he knocked in were big ones, as Desmond turned a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 lead with a two-run single in the fifth, then tacked on an insurance run with a seventh-inning single. Although Desmond's having a great season on the whole, his power has utterly vanished lately -- the shortstop-turned-outfielder hasn't homered since July 28 and hasn't had an extra-base hit since July 29. Wednesday could be a sign that he's turning these August struggles around, though, so stay patient if you own him.
