Twins' Joe Mauer: Experiences quad soreness

Mauer's absence from Wednesday's lineup is due to sore quadriceps muscles, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Star Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Minnesota gave Mauer the day off to prevent him from further aggravating his quads. Fortunately, he isn't expected to miss any additional time and should be in the starting lineup Thursday versus the Royals.
