The Seattle Mariners recalled right-hander Taijuan Walker from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday in time to make a start against the New York Yankees, optioning right-hander Cody Martin to the minors in the process.

Walker was optioned to the minors on Aug. 8, after being removed from the disabled list and making one bad start for the Mariners.

The 24-year-old began the season in Seattle's rotation, posting a 4.10 ERA across 17 starts during the 2016 campaign.

Walker, a former first-round draft choice, owns an 18-18 record with a 4.14 ERA and 1.20 WHIP during 57 career appearances, 54 of which have been starts.
