Royals' Alex Gordon: August turnaround

Gordon is hitting .269/.333/.423 so far in August after coming into the month hitting .206/.313/.335.

Analysis:

Most of the 32-year-old's improvement can be attributed to his batting average on balls in play jumping from .272 to .387. Although unconfirmed, Gordon's early-season struggles could stem from a broken bone in his right hand that sent him to the DL on May 23.
