Giants' Denard Span: Out of Wednesday's lineup

Span is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Pirates.

Analysis:

This is just a standard day off for the veteran center fielder. Span has been getting an off day roughly once every nine or 10 days since returning from injury in early July. Gregor Blanco will patrol center field and hit eighth Wednesday.
