Marlins' Jose Fernandez: Start pushed to next week

Fernandez will not make a second start this week, presumably being pushed back to Monday or Tuesday in Cincinnati, the Miami Herald's Andre Fernandez reports.

Analysis:

The Marlins will take advantage of Thursday's off day to move Tom Koehler up to start Sunday, which will allow them to give their ace an extra day of rest. Fernandez has not been confirmed as Monday's starter against the Reds, and the Marlins could conceivably even push him to Tuesday and have David Phelps pitch on normal rest Monday. Unless they plan on skipping Fernandez altogether and calling up a starter from Triple-A, he should take the ball early next week.
