Dodgers' Scott Kazmir: Takes disappointing loss in quality start
Kazmir (9-6) tossed six quality innings but took the loss Wednesday against the Phillies. He allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six.
Analysis:
It was a disappointing outcome against one of the league's worst offenses, but it wasn't all bad news for Kazmir owners. The quality start was his first since July 19, and the southpaw didn't surrender a homer for the first time in five outings. Kazmir also induced more ground outs (8) than fly outs (4) for just the fifth time in his 23 games this season. He'll look to end a season-worst three-game losing streak Wednesday when he takes on the Phillies again, this time on the road.
