Nationals' Jayson Werth: Extends on-base streak to 40 games

Werth extended his on-base streak to 40 games Wednesday against the Indians. He went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a three-run homer and scored three times in the win.

Analysis:

Werth has reached base in every game since June 20, raising his on-base percentage from .317 to .343 during his 40-game streak. The veteran has only mustered 13 RBI during the run but has made up for it by drawing 30 walks in that time. Werth's second-inning home run Wednesday was his 15th of the year and put him on pace for his first 20-homer season since 2013.
